Kithul Syrup Meat Marinade
This marinade works beautifully with chicken, beef, pork, or lamb.
Ingredients:
- 2 tbsp kithul syrup
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 garlic cloves (minced)
- 1 tsp fresh ginger (grated)
- 1 tbsp lemon or lime juice
- 1 tsp chili flakes or powder (optional for heat)
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp salt
- Fresh herbs like thyme or rosemary (optional)
Instructions:
- In a bowl, whisk together the kithul syrup, soy sauce, olive oil, garlic, ginger, lemon juice, chili flakes, black pepper, and salt. Add herbs if desired.
- Place your meat of choice (about 500g of chicken, beef, pork, or lamb) in a resealable plastic bag or a dish.
- Pour the marinade over the meat, ensuring it is fully coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 1-2 hours (for best results, marinate overnight).
- Remove the meat from the marinade and cook by grilling, baking, or pan-searing until done.
Serving suggestion:
Serve the marinated meat with roasted vegetables, a fresh salad, or steamed rice for a delicious dinner.
The kithul syrup adds a natural caramelized sweetness to the meat, balancing the savory flavors!
