Kithul Syrup Meat Marinade

 Kithul Syrup Meat Marinade

This marinade works beautifully with chicken, beef, pork, or lamb.

Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsp kithul syrup
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger (grated)
  • 1 tbsp lemon or lime juice
  • 1 tsp chili flakes or powder (optional for heat)
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • Fresh herbs like thyme or rosemary (optional)

Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, whisk together the kithul syrup, soy sauce, olive oil, garlic, ginger, lemon juice, chili flakes, black pepper, and salt. Add herbs if desired.
  2. Place your meat of choice (about 500g of chicken, beef, pork, or lamb) in a resealable plastic bag or a dish.
  3. Pour the marinade over the meat, ensuring it is fully coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 1-2 hours (for best results, marinate overnight).
  4. Remove the meat from the marinade and cook by grilling, baking, or pan-searing until done.

Serving suggestion:

Serve the marinated meat with roasted vegetables, a fresh salad, or steamed rice for a delicious dinner.

The kithul syrup adds a natural caramelized sweetness to the meat, balancing the savory flavors!
